It's pretty great, and the software it comes with is also fairly decent.
The only issue with it is that its keyframe interval is handled automatically (you can't change it in the software) so if where you stream to has a required interval (like Hitbox for example) you can run into issues.
It works just fine with OBS if you set it up properly, should you decide you don't like the software it comes with. Or if you need to set the keyframe interval to a manual number in because of the aforementioned problem.

Comes with an adapter in box to get around that. Annoying to set up and only gives 720p if you care about that The HD 60 is a much better product if you're looking for 1080 full HD.

The original Elgato HD has this circular port for the addons. You might want to start looking for composite/s-video/etc to HDMI converters.

I have this one, got it when it was brand new, and I loved it. It's was basically the cheaper Hauppage of it's day, but it is still great. I think the only downfall I can remember was needing a pretty good computer if you want to stream with this because the software is very unoptomized. If you're just recording, it is fine though.

Wii U is a completely gutless console
It's a pretty solid device.
Mine is really underused though, because making videos doesn't sound fun and my pc isn't that great for streaming currently.
