I liked it, but I'm just a huge Halo Fag.
I'd add some sort of multiplayer with the ODSTs, expand on the Campaign's actiony bits.
I love ODSTs, we need more of them.

I understand you can have one unique and lucky ODST that is capable of achieving a lot, but you're just capable of way too much in the game for it to be believable in the canon. An ODST shouldn't fight as competently as Master Chief does.

An incredibly underrated game, both as an entry into the Halo series and a game on it's own.
ODST features the one of the greatest examples of atmosphere and a story told through the environment itself. It also has Marty O'Donnel's greatest work.

It's one of the best Halo games. It's not perfect. It probably should have felt different than the other games. ODSTs felt too much like playing as Master Chief.

If anything it's underrated.

Overrated but a decent game. Don't remember too much about it but I do remember being underwhelmed coming off the back of Halo 3 (confirmed for best Halo).My observations:
- That hubworld was interesting but so damn tedious and often very hard to find those helmets or whatever triggered a level. Wasn't fun or interesting scavenging for parts, didn't really help the story
- Graphics were too dark and murky and relied on the can't see chit captain night vision.
- Characterisations worked reasonably well but they were still pretty cringeworthy/uninteresting.
- Not as epic a scope as the main games making it closer to a generic scifi corridor shooter.
- I think it had a cool jetpack level I liked at the time.

Was it just me or did you move faster while holding a turret in ODST compared to 3? I was never sure if it was because you were smaller so it felt that way or you were actually faster.

ODST broke the mold, and 3 aced the Halo sound. Reach had some great tracks and some meh ones. 1 is solid, but overshadowed by 3 in every way, 2 is good in its own right. 4 has a few good tracks but mostly middling ones.

After weapon balancing, 4's guns all felt great in MP, rather than an eclectic mix of shit, great, and whatever. I was outshooting fools in 4 at medium range with an AR before and after updates.

Reach's AR was accurate, but too weak. 3's was decent, but unimpressive. 1's was good, but felt like an SMG in its effective range.

ODST made the AR shit with its huge reduction in effectiveness against Brute power armor compared to 3, so there was no reason to not use the SMG except for more spare ammo capacity. The pistol was useless against shields/PA as well, but godly for unshielded enemies, making it vary between shit and great wildly depending on the enemies faced, or whether those enemies had shields/PA or not.

The DMR was way too good in 4 pre TU, and the BR too good after, and too many guns did the same shit but worse then some other gun. 3 had the same issuer.

I felt the range boost to the AR in reach was good enough to totally outweigh the damage reduction. Nearly every gun in reach was good in it's niche, without the niche being too small, and without tons of guns doing the same thing.

In any case the weapon balance in 5 is miles ahead of every other halo game. The AR for instance has better range then reach's and like 4 level damage, for instance, the SMG and storm rifle are monsters, etc.
