Do people honestly hate Battlefront THAT much?
I'm having a fun time. Online multiplayer games have never been a huge favorite of mine. Flying around is a blast. It sounds and looks great. Honestly, I feel like it has more variety than most other online FPS. It's just not what the old Battlefronts were, and it's there that I can understand the disappointment.

BLOPS3 comes with 12 multiplayer maps (not including the bonus ones), 3 zombie mode maps, 4 free run maps, and a campaign mode with full 4 player co op
Halo 5 comes with over 20 multiplayer maps, a full campaign with co - op, and a free map editor later this year
Star Wars EA Battlefront only comes with 4 multiplayer maps remixed based on the mode, and a few co-op challanges, no campaign mode, no custom games. It has less modes than both Halo and COD.

I have 51 hours logged and reached level 50. The vast majority of that went into Walker Assault. Im done with this game as I wont get the season pass unless it goes cheap and theres not enough there to justify playing it any longer.
By comparison, I have over 250 in both BF3 and 4 each and over 300 on Halo 2 easy and God knows how many hours I sunk into older Battlefronts but, suffice to say I still play them more than 10 years later. I even surpassed 100 in GTA online.

The graphics are good, the maps are good, the shooting is alright (if somewhat samey) etc. It does everything well but when you add it up the experience amounts to less than the sum of its parts. It feels like it lacks enthusiasm. It's just another well polished piece of Star Wars (TM) merchandise, the likes of which we've played a hundred times before.
The lack of content is egregious. /v/ wasn't exaggerating for once, it really is incredible how bare this game is. No single player (those dinky ass challenges/training missions you can burn through in half an hour don't count) no Galactic Conquest, no space battles, no different eras/factions, no distinct character types, essentially no vehicles, not enough maps, reused assets, etc.
People say you shouldn't compare it to the original Battlefronts but why the fuck shouldn't you, they called it Battlefront didn't they. Honestly though even putting aside the fact that it's not like it's predecessors it's just a forgettable game. My gaming buddies and I pop it in once a week, play some walker assault, then we go back to BF4
6/10 I wish I'd payed $18 for it instead of $60

The in game HUD is all over-minimalized and rounded. Not Star Wars-y at all, it looks like the clock on a smartphone or something.
That giant picture grid they call a main menu is so annoying to use it actually deters me from playing the game.

250 hours is the absolute minimum time input I would be willing to shell out $60 for an online game. I have probably 130 hours in Battlefront 2, and I've enjoyed absolutely none of it. Yes, I absolutely detest this game. The main difference between Battlefront 1/2 and Battlefront are that they original two are fundamentally good games in their own right.

Take away the aesthetics of battlefront 1 or 2 on the otherhand and you still have a solid game game that is fun to play.

Games pretty shit. I dropped it on launch week and only picked it up again this past weekend to do the double XP thing with a friend. We didn't even play the game. Just dicked around on the outskirts harassing fighters with ions and sniping.
The most fun we had was absolutely shitting on the game and trying to figure out what retard thought it would be a good idea to replace vehicles with these gay little tokens. Also has anybody noticed that fighters are beyond useless? Especially TIEs that get eaten alive by a-wings no matter the situation. In general all they can do are quick little strafing runs, outside of that they're really only good for tangling with eachother and exist in their own little insulated bubble above the actual game.

Evolve is okay. It's just starved for content (as in game modes, not paid characters) and a complete clusterfuck if you happen to play on consoles.

I was playing Giants: Citizen Kabuto today and I realized that the control scheme for the Mechs are the exact same as a trooper/rebel in the new battlefront.
