Yuffie is more of a completionist character. She's the best Morph user in the game but other than that she is nothing special. Her Super Ball weapon is pretty great for when you first get it though.

If the only reason you give someone a party space is because of their Limit Breaks then yes, Red XIII probably wouldnt make the cut
However, he has the best stats in the game after Cloud. You can load him up with Materia and it wont affect his strength like it would the other members. Outside of his Limits he is a powerhouse of damage and versitility, again only second to Cloud.
He also gets a weapon early/mid of the game which completely fucking breaks the game for a good period of time. Dat fucking Seraph Comb, man.
As far as I can tell, the best party is Cloud, Cid and Red XIII
