I really want to get Splatoon and Xenoblade X, but I barely have to time to play the games I have as it is.
Never played a Zelda game either so, really anticipating the new one.

Naw, after Skyward Sword, that was really the last draw for me.
It's a really spoiled game, leaching off of a legacy. It think its so innovative, but it just lead the franchise into a frustrating monotony. What was great about Zelda was its sense of wonder, but there's nothing but formality in skyward sword. There's no mystery, no wit. It doesn't ask of us for our sense of adventure, but rather how well we listen and follow directions.

Probably, I just finished (mostly) Xenoblade X 2 days ago.
To be perfectly honest nothing there is worth buying a console for but it's a nice line-up, DK is the most solid 2D platformer I played in a long time though and Bayonetta 2 is as always very fun
Xenoblade I have a mixed opinion overall but it's definitely impressive due to the sheer scale of the world, just that the rest of the game feel like kind of half-assed, honestly as a game it's not that good but as an experience it's something you have to do if you have a Wii-U

not that guy but it is mostly the exploration and the desire for leveling shit up and getting better loot.
the game is very open and let's you do whatever the fuck you want. this game gave me the same feeling that Dragons dogma gave me.
it starts out slow but its a massive open world, you want to get new gear and level up your class constantly. and eventually you uncover a story that you didn't expect to be there.
Also the whole futuristic people living on a wild planet full of hostile animals is awesome, you're some guy with rifles and lightsabers or rocketlaunchers trying to survive out there and hunt giant monkeys and shit.
eventually even getting a mech.
it's pretty cool if you ask me.

I've played Splatoon for 500 hours and Hyrule Warriors for 200 hours. I haven't played Bayonetta for that long, true, but it's more fun than MK8 was. I guess I'm biased against it since I'm bored of it now.I can't give it top 5 because MKWii was better IMO

The exploration
Seeing Noctum or Primordia for the first time, all these huge monsters roaming around is just a great feeling.
After that when you get used to it you'll saw all the flaws of the games like:
The boring writing driven by even more boring characters, Elma and Lin as main was a disastrous decision, having to use them for the main missions and a big part of the affinity mission is a horrible choice design wise, I hope you enjoy hearing Lin joking about Tatsu a milion time
-Gameplay-wise it's not that interesting, the classes in general are kind of boring even compared to Xenoblade, some things like aiming at appendages on mobs are badly implemented and mostly used for drops and the soul voice while not a bad idea isn't very customizable and rely on rng anyway
I went for the duelist class blind and with the blaze combo I made I could easily drop mobs 10 levels higher than me, Xenoblade X is also a pretty easy game in general
-The bestiary may seem large at first but it's actually really limited, you'll keep seeing the same monsters forever in the 5 areas, considering the game is so big it's a shame, and while the world itself is well designed it does show half hassed things like the way the caves are copy-pasted
-The missions are monotonous as hell and pretty much MMO tier, some have a bit of story but the writing is bad in general so it's not really pleasurable to do them, the ally aliens in Xenoblade X are Star Wars 1-3 level of annoying and even the Nopon are far worse than they were in Xenoblade. In general I liked the Back to the Future mission and in term of affinity I guess Hope was cute and H.B was hilarious in a way, and that's all
-The skells that were one of the selling point of the game are far more boring than you'd think and not very interesting to play at, in the end playing as a skell just amount to spamming attack praying cockpit time will happen if you fight something really strong.
