Which is your favorite switch for gaming? Do you prefer clicky or linear switches? Do you believe that there is an actual advantage to linear for gaming than clicky, or is it just personal preference?
>using a finger fedora
just get a $15 rubber dome board
I love blues for typing but browns are all around pretty good
>>320923418
Green master race. Just got a CODE and love it
>>320923506
> I'm a poorfag
It's all personal preference. Linear switches are just recommended for gaming since you're going to be bottoming out and there's no reason for a tactile bump or click.
>>320923506
>finger fedora
Blacks master race
Browns.
I love how they feel.
I like MX Browns for gaming. Got a keyboard with Blues at work for typing. My favorite combo.
>>320923418
I've only tried Reds, Blues, and Greens.
Greens were too stiff, blues I like the sound but it would get old. I liked Red a lot, but never tried the others.
I have a very light touch so I don't think I would bottom out much while actually doing work so would Red be best choice?
>>320923418
Browns
All preference. Just like with mice and most other peripherals the best thing to do is go down to your local Micro Center or wherever and try different ones out.
I have reds that I'm very happy with personally. I like that they are a bit more quiet and require a lighter touch than some of the other switches.
BLACKED all the way.
Brown's are OK though.
How the fuck does the colour of plastic make any difference what so ever. Your all a bunch of dipshit autists
>>320931684
I bet you think LED colors don't matter either
pleb
>>320923418
I have Greens. Took a long while to get used to them because they are extremely stiff but now I really like them
>>320923506
Pretty much this. If you do typing for work then mechanical is worth it but for gaming not even close.
>>320923418
They had so many colors unused and they went with 4 shades of gray and black? Why?
Black
It just feels the most natural to me
Have 2 brown keyboards and a blue, overall I like feel of the brown a bit better.
>>320923418
>le non-linear switches are bad for gaming meme
I've yet to fail at "double tapping" on my blues, the person that writes these guides should kill himself.
>>320931920
>Never owned one, but here's my 2 cents
I prefer scissor switches the most, honestly.
Real gamers use a cheap rubber dome keyboard and a generic walmart-tier mouse
Anything else is fedora tier
>>320932135
>I've yet to fail at "double tapping" on my blues
You just don't notice the failures.
>>320931745
It's like he doesn't even think brand paint jobs makes a difference either.
>>320923418
What would be the equivalent to these old dogs? I really liked the clack-clack noise they made and they felt really good to use
>>320932206
I have one I use for writing tho. With blues.
>>320932262
Get a job.
>>320932017
I hate my black switches
They take way too much pressure to activate, which ups the chance of developing carpal tunnel
They suck for typing because I accidentally press keys, and they suck for gaming because of stupid amounts of pressure to hit the keys, and I'll get fatigue if I play for too long
>>320932262
This desu
>>320932308
Blues, greens, and apparently whites, are all clicky.
Blues are the most common of the three, though.
Head on over to /g/ and read the sticky on the mechanical keyboard general. It's pretty simple and gives you a good idea of what makes each key different.
>>320932262
Keyboard doesn't matter much, but if you're not using a modern, optic mouse at low DPI with a large mousepad, you're going to be shit at video games
>>320923418
green but memebrane is better thx
>>320932267
Except I play a game where I have to dodge almost all the time and the only way to do it is to double tap in certain directions. I believe people having trouble with this have paper fingers.
>>320923506
This desu senpai
Running MX Cherry Blacks with my 7G, I still prefer MX Reds or Browns over Blacks. It's too stiff...
>>320923418
i have browns because clicky is annoying as fuck and even louder than any switch
>>320935195
>No LEDs
Enjoy your toaster.
>>320935195
do you have any pics of that build where it's easier to see the scale of it?
how's the temps?
>No buckling springs
>>320935287
>>No LEDs
>Enjoy your toaster.
I had orange LEDs at the bottom vents but the adhesive kept melting off for some reason.
>>320935365
?
Surprisingly temps are better now without LEDs.
Full size or TKL?
Fight!
>>320935603
Obviously.
Orange LEDs make your rig run faster but hotter.
You need those blue LEDs if you want low temps, bruh
>>320935665
I don't see the point of TKL. I use the numpad not only for work/documentation but also as macros for gaming.
>>320935665
If you're not using a fullsize keyboard you might as well go consolefag.
>>320935517
>Not using beamspring
What kind of pleb do you think I am
>>320935665
60% :^)
>God Tier
blue

>Good Tier
green

>Meh Tier

black
>Oh Shit Nigga, What Are You Doing Tier
red
superblack
>>320935665
I like TKL because I never really used a numpad at all and it give me quite a bit more mouse space for playing fps games with low sensitivity on a giant mousepad. I regularly slammed into the side of my fullsize I had previously and now everything is just a little more comfy.
>>320923418
>mechanical for gaming
Ayy to the fucking lmao
>Playing games with a meme keyboard
They're for typing and that's it.
>>320937437
>giant mousepad
>Using anything but your wrist and fingers to move your mouse
How to spot a shitter
>>320937606
Fucking this. I thought I was the only one who does it.
>>320937606
the vast majority of low sens pro fps players aim with their arm broadly and fine tune with wrist
I have this CM Storm something something with Reds and like it a lot. Ignore my half-eaten breakfast.
>>320937826
>low sens players play like low sens players
dome excellency reporting in. mechanicals are annoying.
>>320923418
I mix them randomly.
