Why can't western devs make a good game with gothic theme? Best gothic games came from Japan (number of gothic edifices: zero) and Russia (one wooden gothic church).
Why are western video game developers so devoid of talent? If you can't make a proper bossfight in 40 year history, can you at least make some good art?

America has southern-gothic, but the only one I can think of is Alan Wake, which is Finnish.

which it didn't use in any game properly ever. And since most of American devs are inundated with cultural marxism, it ensures that the southern man will have a special place in the gallery of villains.

I agree with OP. I'm very glad we got Bloodborne this year, and I'm hoping that indie developers will pick up that kind of aesthetic soon.
