when will this stupid meme end? All of these games are terrible. Technology and game design has advanced so much that these games just aren't worth anyone's time.
Nintendo has the gall to sell SNES games digitally for 7.99 when you can get them for free online using emulation. They don't even release games in a timely manner. Sony has the gall to charge 15 dollars for PS2 games, even to people who already own them digitally on their PS3s already.
All of these games should be available for free and you're a stupid old fart if you think otherwise. Steam has thousands of games and we can all typically get them for less than 10 dollars during a sale. Google Store and Apple Store both have games available for pennies.

I think I first finished Super Metroid in 2005.
The fact that I can still pop it in and be enthralled by it's gorgeous sprites, creepy atmosphere, unsettling soundtrack, and still have a blast playing through the game says a lot about it.
That time is called the golden era of gaming for a reason. Nothing like it gets made today. We haven't had a truly great big budget game since RE4, and games like God Hand or Little King's Story never sell well.

I played morrowind after i played oblivion and skyrim, and i thought it gave me more freedom and fun than ethier of them, running across an ocean as a mage is something i want to be able to do more often, skyrim and oblivion ended up focusing on the npc's reaction to the world, they're games with different focuses, and i prefer morrowind.
Having a spesific deisgn descision like "You need to have a high short blade stats in order to hit with short swords" isn't a flaw, it's a choice the devs made, whether or not the system is bad or good is upto debate, personally i didn't like the missing system in morrowind, i thought that a big damage penalty would've worked alot better.

If I'm going to want to play an NES or SNES game on my 3DS or Wii or Wii U, firstly I already own the game and paid for it once you're rewrapping and trying to sell it again for higher than the price of an emulator on a smart phone.
You're not giving me the use of the original controller, which is something I CAN get on a PC with emulator, you're not giving me any benefits to getting it your way but you are charging me more than is reasonable for it. Obviously not all games were, and while gaming companies always wanted to make profit, it was mainly about making good games. A lot of developers were gaming enthusiasts. Now that gaming has entered the mainstream in a big way companies are just interested in rushing out games to make a profit.
It's like a lot of music. We technically have superior sound recording abilities now and better ways to make music but a lot of music nowadays is simply overproduced nonsense made by some corporate guy trying to maximise how much money they made.
I agree these games are quite expensive on WiiU/PS3 etc but I either use emulators or the original console.
