which one?
this one
I prefer stick, myself, but I don't think it's necessarily objectively better. I know folks that are most comfortable on pad.
Really need a new one before SFV drops. Been playing all the betas on pad, it's been a very special personal hell.
I've played fighting games on stick since I was a kid. Playing on pad is hell on my thumbs and I can't do more complicated executions.
I play 2D games on a stick and 3D games on a pad.

Both dpads are gr8 for our special hobby: stgs!
Do not miss out the opportunity to play stgs on a stick for enhanced fun, though

why tho
>>320842287
3D games are very pad friendly, having 4 buttons and rarely having motion inputs.
2D games tend to use 5 or 6 buttons and motion inputs
The only motion input that's easier to do on a dpad is 360 motions but I don't play grapplers.
A good compromise are "fightpads" which have 6 face buttons and tend to be functionally the same as a Saturn pad.

>play fighting games at a friend's house
>"heres your stick anon."
JUST

whats wrong with it
>>320843695
It appears to be too small to actually use.
>>320843770
I have never used one so I didnt know what might be wrong with it

I use a Qanba Q1 which is a bit bigger. Small sticks ain't bad for the most part unless you're a big guy. I personally prefer the smaller size. Switched the buttons and stick out for Sanwa parts though.
Sticks feel so weird but my input game is savage on one but I can barely dash and do double motions.
On a pad I'm average but I can move WAY better and do shit like IADs in my sleep but doing HCB+F or 2x HCB is killer
I prefer pad though because moving>everything in a fighter, well it depends but the ones I do play I feel like moving is more important.

controller is the only option, sticks are for try hard faggots or LE KOOL FOR U KIDS
I'm shit at fighting games and I get blisters whenever I play them casually with a pad, but I want to get into some since more are releasing on pc
Is there like an entry level stick that's not too expensive but isn't shit and will get the job done just without bells and whistles?
>>320841697
I switch to a Stick once I got serious with Fighters. Because I fell for the "sticks makes you a better player meme", Which is funny because I did become far better.(not because of a stick tho.)
>>320844351
You shouldn't cheap out on a stick
If you're not braindead retarded or lazy you can swap out the cheap components with sanwa parts though.
>>320844351
Qanba Q1 or Madcatz fightstick pro
>>320843834
Have you ever seen one of the kid sized 3rd party controllers, it's basically that but for fighting sticks.
>>320844351
>some since more are releasing on pc
like what?
Arcade sticks are terrible for FPS games.
Were these any good?

Gross.
>>320844554
the madcatz ones broke very quickly
Hori makes one which is nice, the fighting commander 4 is on sale for $35 on amazon right now and works with ps3/ps4 and pc
>>320844497
Melty, GG, SFV
the only fighter I ever tried to get good at was darkstalkers but I'd like to play more
>>320844572
>play tekken 5 on pc with a keyboard for years
>at friends house
>lets play tekken 5
<its on ps2
>lose because never played with a controller
I play fighters on a stick because I miss the arcades. It's like using a hotas for flight sims or a wheel on racing games.

i hope T7 comes to PC
>>320844632
