FFXIII has no main character. Lightning is one of many. She's the face of the game, but it never truly focuses on her.
FFXIII-2 didn't focus on Lightning. She was one of the narrators and gave Serah & Noel their mission. She had stuff going on too but you didn't really know until the end.
FFXIII LR was kind of about Lightning, but more about the world and how fucked up its gotten. She was indeed the main character here and you saw many different sides of her personality.
It doesn't focus on her, she is just the face.

Replaying 13-2 made me realise Lightning was capable of some pretty crazy shit early game. Basically undying, smashed up a fucking meteor and trashed Caius and his Bahamut form.
