there's normally only 4 buttons you can hit if both thumbs are on the sticks (plus 2 more from pressing on the sticks which is awkward). And every console FPS now has aim down sights. So that's two buttons gone just for aiming and shooting, and you need to fit grenades/melee/jumping/weapon switching in there too.
people drop 200 bucks on f2p trash just to get a slight advantage. Doing the same on a controller should not surprise you.

Plus KI is the only fighter exclusive to the system, so I'm not dropping $150 on one game alone when I could, and did, drop $150 on a better controller all around for everything on the system that I want to play. How is it pointless? It lets you have thumbs on both sticks, fore and middle fingers on the bumpers/triggers and still have access to the face-button/d-pad functions at the same time.
It would be really useful for games like Dark Souls where you really need to control the camera at all times but also tend to rolling, weapon/grip switching and item use, all while having ready access to the triggers to hit/parry.
