Did you know that you could have a PC which is 10x better than consoles for less than $500? That's like a $300 console, $60 online, and 2 games; but games are always cheaper on PC.
>>320824920
You realize you need more than just a CPU/GPU to build a computer right?
Also, a cheapo i5-2500k + 750 ti is much cheaper and is still much better than a console.
>>320824983
Are you blind?
That's everything but a GPU, which is listed in the accompanying half of the picture.
>>320824983
>>320825026
For reference.
>if you buy used/secondhand shit it'll be cheaper than a brand new device with brand new games
Well no shit there Sherlock
>>320824896
Other than AMD card, could you recommend a nvidia card with that build?tropical climate so AMD card is no good
i will go for this
>>320825215
It's just the GPU. Everything else is new. All used parts would be way cheaper.. sub-$350.
>>320825272
A used 770 or better. It depends. Just watch out for the really cheap Vamery cards. They're a scam.
>>320825412
These. Don't fuck with these cards.
>>320825412
Seems like these sort of deals comes up quite a bit.
I still would probably get a 3-4GB card though. 680s and 780s are way OP though.
>>320825412
>It's just the GPU
Yeah, and it's "only" $100 less than what they go for new. Not to mention you list shady cdkey sites instead of first party retailer pricings for games. I think if you need to go that far to show that PC is price competitive with a brand new console bought at a big retailer store then all you're showing is that you're actually wrong.
>>320825840
>that far
280x cards are pretty new. Why does it matter if the GPU is massively price reduced because the card market is oversaturated? The production companies over-released 2GB cards, and now the whole market's trying to upgrade. The same would probably be said for the 4-8GB iterations -- all that not even mentioning that graphics are improving again because of improved consoles.
Shady key sites? G2A is a common place for purchases. Ever heard of seller rep? How about guaranteed key delivery?
Git gud.
>>320824896
That's nice, but where's the exclusives?
>>320825840
Also, good luck playing Gothic, Dark Messiah, Age of Empires (getting expansions still), modded Skyrim, and games at 60 FPS on consoles.
Protip: most games on consoles are only performing at 30FPS, *maybe* 1080p.

You mean the framerate? 4k?
Oh yeah, a used $350 PC is playing games at 4K as well:

You're comparing used vs. new. If you listed the price of everything else new, why not list the price of the GPU new as well instead of used?
>Shady key sites?

>o-ok it's not cheaper but the performance!
How's that goalpost moving going?
>>320824896
I wouldn't advise those 280X.
The card is great - I have 7970(the same card pretty much), it performs wonderfully for its price/age but don't buy any version that doesn't have 3 fans.
>>320824896
>he does it for free
Yes I knew that
>>320826514
>If you listed the price of everything else new, why not list the price of the GPU new as well instead of used?
There's no reason to get a new GPU. They're functionally the same thing. That's how the point is relevant that "they're basically new".
>>look it's cheaper
The price was clearly listed in the OP. After just a few games purchases, it is cheaper.
Goalpoasts intact, nigga.
>>320826610
The 7970s were used for hash mining. Also, here's a picture of the 7970 vs 280x load temps. The 280x is better.
So im going to OC my processor soon, what I want to know is how much longer will the 3570k last?
>>320826868
I OC'd my Phenom II quite a bit, and I've had it since 2011.
^_^
>>320826948
Yeah but I've heard things about these running hot or something. I've had no issue with it but I want to know when I should look into upgrading
>>320824896
>AMD
Maybe you'll run last gen games but you'll only get fucked by driver overhead, poor optimization and Nvidia partnership deals when running newer titles, congrats you just wasted $120.
>>320826832
>There's no reason to get a new GPU. They're functionally the same thing. That's how the point is relevant that "they're basically new".
New as in not used, are you fucking retarded? A new 280x retails for $100 over what you posted. And an used console with used games is also functionally the same thing as a new one, so why aren't you listing used prices for those?
>The price was clearly listed in the OP. After just a few games purchases, it is cheaper.
See above, you're cherrypicking hard as fuck.

Consoles have way higher failure rates than PCs.

Literally everything is new except the GPU, which is still pretty fresh off the presses. How is that cherrypicking?
>>320827172
>mouse and keyboard and OS
What the fuck are you typing on? Ditch that piece of shit and put linux on it for a minecraft/terraria/X server.
Albeit, for less than the price of a game, you can have just that.
>>320828328
>Albeit, for less than the price of a game, you can have just that.
Here's that listing, btw. They're as simple as typing in whatever keyword, like "i3" or the AMD equivalent (probably nothing that would perform as well unfortunately). It comes with everything, including Windows that can be pulled. Microsoft provides free Win 7 ISO downloads with a key.

That i3 could also probably be set up as a streaming receiver for another room.
i3s are fucking fantastic. Cherry-picked benches, here. Some other sites showed slightly better AMD performance.
