Meh I don't mind it. MGS actually did a good job with it at actually making the missions themselves better as a result. Outside of missions isn't too great, but in missions, the camps are designed to be infiltrated from any side, in many different ways, and it really does cater for any type of playstyle. It's very different to past MGS games, and it moved away from a story focus, so I'm not surprised most core fans didn't like it, but it's a damn good game.

Kojima wanted to do "freedom of infiltration" and have a focus of open stealth. You can't really do that with closed off indoor areas.

I have a friend like this. TPP is the first MGS game he's played and I constantly complain about it and he tries to tell me how good it is and how there's so much to do and so many different ways you can beat a mission. I try to tell him to play previous games in the series but he's not as enthusiastic.
