One reason is that Toadette is not targeted by Smashfags to either be in Smash or be profoundly hated. The other reason is that she is not everywhere; no amiibo or Mario Maker costume along with not really being present in advertising. In this way, and I don't completely agree with it, she avoids appearing "forced" compared to how other people view other characters being forced. I don't think any character is really "forced" though.
