I like Digimon World 1 because it's the only one based on the original little tomodatchi-for-boys game and it's pretty unique. The world is pretty and everything about it feels special, but the game does not at all age well.
By today's standards, it's a pile of shit. Even at release it was too hard for a lot of kids.
Everything else tries to get away from that, devolving into a shitty Pokemon clone. If you like those games, you should probably just find a better game elsewhere that doesn't have a Digimon skin because it's all kind of pointless.
Digimon World is the only RPG were I felt like I was actually working towards something while grinding. It was the only one with a sense of exploration and danger when you leave the safety of File City.
