yeah, the scene could have ended with him taking off his hood, or even just Rey approaching him with his back turned. Instead we had five awkward back and forth cuts and the most retarded helicopter shot ever.
I kinda feel like there was supposed to be dialogue and it was cut. like, "luke?" .... "luke ... now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time" (or equivalent pandering)
the alternative reasoning is that disney / JJ thought audiences were so retarded that they wouldn't recognise luke so they needed like five+ shots of his face and the lightsaber being held out to him to spell the whole thing out.still probably the 3rd best star wars movie tho
