It's a fun enough tactical RPG. You get three routes that vastly differ in the plot they follow. The plot isn't entirely uninteresting at times, the gameplay isn't too complex, but still remain pretty solid. You got bitches and you got bros. And don't expect any sex scenes before several hours.
And while your waifu is generally solid, don't get too focused on her. The MC becomes pretty much a manwhore right after the first sex scene. Though sometimes it's not his fault I guess.

Haven't played since my first time when I put around 200 hours into it.
Great game, but some of the grinding required is awful.
And unfortunately, the balance of the characters is way off. Some characters have harsh stat caps and are downright useless in NG+ content until you've sent them through the fountain once or twice, going through the fountain once. I remember taking Aht, Suina etc. with me to that demon mission to get Mylen, because they were a bit behind so I could get them some levels, and got rekt pretty hard. Ended up having to do that mission with my better characters.
In fact the only good/useful non-NG+ characters are Kohakuren and Crayanne, besides Yuela who's overpowered through and through. Too many others are completely in the shadow of Eushully and Golem who are insanely powerful, or Mylen and Lily who can get pretty good as well. Meanwhile, if you can only upgrade main heroines clothes once per playthrough, so my Elftits and loli wizard were nearly completely useless until 2nd and 3rd playthrough.

Chances are that the player doesn't realize that some of the reinforcements are really good (especially if they got Kanami) so their end-game party is complete shit. I've seen lots of screenshots of parties that consist of nothing but the starting characters + generics (and sometimes the panda guy who tricks everyone with his high stats). That makes the end-game pretty damn hard to beat.

Probably. It's closest to Shining Force with a lot more unit customization. Characters all have sets of skills they can learn and equip, giving them well-defined roles in battle without a ton of overlap (although some are OP), and while it's not very challenging for the most part, there's enough going on and well enough designed maps to explore with enemies all over that you'll end up using a large percentage of your party through the very long main game without steamrolling the entire thing. Look up some gameplay videos. You're not going to buy it anyway, so download it and try if you're interested.
If you want to be a completionist though, you've got a lot of grinding and looking up stuff in FAQs ahead of you.
