And as for quality - reminder that at least half of Tomb Raider games were average AT BEST yet people still feel actual, living nostalgia to those titles.
Surprisingly enough the Legend-Anniversary-Underworld trilogy was showing signs of progress unlike the original 1->chronicles series. Too bad it was cut short. But enough of Tomb Raider offtopic - quality doesn't matter sequel will sell even better.

Explosions looked nice, shooting was fun and the online elements were genuinely interesting. Unfortunately it fell flat in every other single department. Sold that shit within a week.

What's your patience/tolerance threshold for shitty design in games?. The game is more tedious than it is fun. Got it free with my PS4 recently, and it's really fucking not fun at times, car chases, police pursuits and shootouts in the game are terribly designed and not fun. But the game actually has moments where I think the team put effort into making it, they're just much rarer. The stealth is quite fun, since the cover system is cool, and you get a nice silent pistol and bullet time, and the security cam stuff is a really good mechanic that just needs a little more development to become great.
There are just a LOT of tedious hair pulling moments where you'll want to destroy your controller/keyboard.

New engine which was buggy as hell.
Original version was developed for consoles before they knew the final specs, they assumed the consoles would have to be far more powerful.
Console versions got downgraded which in turn caused the PC version to get downgraded, because it's Ubisofts policy to provide identical experiences across all platforms (They even reduced the PS4 resolution to 1600x900 to match Xbox when it didn't need to)

I am not gonna lie, I had fun with it.
For the first few hours.
Then it got... I don't know man, its not even that it got repetitive, I really don't mind repetition, it just, it was like weird as fuck, for the first time in my life I felt a game was downgrading itself as I progressed through it.
Kind of felt like the shit we saw at E3 was everything they had at that point, and then just rushed to slap shit together from that point until the launch.
