I don't play MMOs but I loved this map in SWBF2
Killing Floor

Runescape always had the greatest holiday events, bar none. Having said that, I was so fucking addicted to FlyFF for about 9 years that I also hold their holiday seasons in pretty high regards because of all the cash shop sets that would come out on sale around then and the few fun events they'd have.

don't remember Ultima having official holiday events, but my guild hosted one and it was pretty memorable.
I will be celebrating xmas in ESO or neverwinter this year.
Guild Wars 2 gets points for having Lions Arch looking really nice during events. But the events themselves suck
Maplestory always had okay events but the music for the Christmas and Halloween events was really good if I'm remembering correctly
FFXIV has shit holiday events but they usually give an alright looking costume item or minion. The event themselves is usually 1 quest and 1 fate and both are dull as hell.
Honestly the best Holiday event I did was probably in a pserver. WoW server got crazy decorated with pumpkins all over the world and the guy went all out with placing Halloween enemies in the world and making them worth fighting.
Twinkling Treant of Xmas 2003 in FFXI.
Level-cap of 20, the tree would murder people, so it was the entire server throwing their bodies at it repeatedly for weeks until all of them were dead across the world.
The reward was unlocking the means of teleporting from home nations to outposts for the entire server once prerequisites were met.
Runescape's 2007 Easter event was neat. I don't actually remember anything about it, but you got this fantastic chicken suit out of it.
Any game that lets me play dress up with Santa outfits and whatnot is always fun.
Though in this case in particular, Frontier shines the most on it's April Fools events.

I don't think I played an MMO with a holiday aside from WoW honestly.
Man I really need an MMO to play
I will defend Guild Wars to the death, but the christmas event was always mediocre.
We used to do our own Christmas party in Kamadan with prizes, minigames and quizzes.

I'm starting to believe the "good" MMOs coming out are old version of MMO like 2007 runescape and Maplestory Reboot, but I actually never played either of these MMOs to bank on the nostalgia.

maplestory reboot isn't as good as the old maplestory, but it's way better than the regular servers.
Thing it's missing still is communication. People just don't chat as much as they did early on in the game's life. It's going to take a lot more effort than just changing a few numbers to fix that. Game is going to need to move away from sitting in one map grinding to exploring and having downtime.
