for those of you who have played this game, can you tell me the name of the MC is? or better yet, give me a character that can represent the game as a whole? I keep seeing Ostrava of Boletaria on the promotional art and covers, would he count?

What about the gameplay doesn't appeal? If you're interested in the lore I recommend being as hands on as you can. When you get your information filtered through other sources there's a chance it can be wrong. You'll get a better feel for characters and environments if you actually explore them yourself as well.

I don't know, personally I associate the gold regen aura and exotic looking weapons with ostrava. Maybe it's just me but I generally take into account everything on a character, not just what they're wearing. The poster boy has the knight load out down to the last detail.

Demon's Souls didn't interest me in the slightest as well. When I watched videos I thought it was so fucking dumb and slow and I simply couldn't understand the appeal. But I'm an open minded individual so I bought it to give it a try because you simply cannot decide if a game is worth it just by watching someone else play it at all, you have to play it yourself. And what I found was that I ate my words raw and it became my all time favorite game alongside Bloodborne and Dark Souls 1 and Souls is now my favorite series.
Open your mind to new experiences, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Fluted armor set is standard for knight or you can find one in world 3-1 in the long room right before the arrow bridge. Fastest way to get the rune sword+shield is to continue on to world 3-2 when you'll be going up the inside of the large tower the heart monster is in, once you get to the top, inspect the outer ledge immediately to your left and you'll notice a spot you can just barely drop down to, go around and there will be a pickup with these items.
The special effect on them makes you fairly resistant to magical damage.

I just beat the game recently and NG+ right away like a moron. I wanna Plat the game but now I feel like it will feel like a big chose in NG+.

NG+ is pretty much required to plat the game anyway since you can't get everything in one or two playthroughs anyway. And if you want to 100% the game on a single character you pretty much need to clear the game 4 times due to maiden Astraea's soul having many uses.

Someone doesn't know how consoles work. It's not like PC or something where every single game from every single generation never dies. Console games are stuck on their respective generations until someone puts in "backwards compatibility" as a gimmick.
