Early to mid 20s, easily. He's not a KID, but he's incredibly immature and sheltered. There's a lot of doubt in what he's doing, and he has tantrums quite often in the film. Which is silly, because any time he's calm, he has outstanding presence. If he kept his cool and kept the edge factor down, you would never have thought he was some 20s kid who's a literal tryhard just to impress and get closer with his master.
He's pretty well written, surprisingly enough, even though the dialogue will bend your spine in two.

No, you see, Lucas just wanted to tell a story, of a boy. A conflicted boy who grew to become Darth Vader, a tragic menace. He is the ultimate ideas guy, but he was left unfiltered during the remasters and prequels because everyone by his sides were just yes-men wanting their paychecks. He messed up, but he was genuine.
Disney on the other hand knows they are sitting on fat stacks of cash, they are whoring the series out. All EU is trashed so they can rename and recolor everything in it and resell it. JJ Abrams proves all you need to do is copy the OT and throw in as much references as possible (a la his shitty Star Trek movies) and everyone will eat it up because LOL AT LEAST IT ISNT THE PREQUELS XD and yes, VII is better than I and most definitely II, but it by itself sits on par with 3, perhaps a little better or worse. However, VII is entirely and utterly soulless, it has no identiy, no charm. It feels like a marvel movie with star wars iconography more often than not.
And thats far worse than what Lucas could ever have done. I personally think that meeting with TFU team where he threw out Darth Icky and Insanius was him realizing what had been going on and testing the waters, to see if he really was surrounded by yes-men. He wanted them to challenge him on it, but everyone just sort of nodded in a vague manner and he went on. At least he funded TCW, that redeems almost every sin in the prequels on top of making Anakin and Jar Jar likable and competent characters.

It's actually an amazing movie and true to the original trilogy in almost every way, just modernized. It sets itself up extremely heavily for a sequel but so would the original have if they were absolutely guaranteed a sequel like this. The choreography, whether it was the land or air fights was astounding and the lightsaber duel even more so than ANY of the other movies. The dialogue was just as quirky as the original trilogy and any cheesy references were kept to an absolute minimum.
Simply put, it was just more Star Wars, which is all anyone wanted and it's exactly what we got and it was good.

Honestly? The film relies heavily on nostalgia. Remove the nostalgia, focus on anything other than Kylo Ren, and the movie is honestly just plain meh. The Empire replaced the republic, is growing increasingly despotic and removed the Imperial Senate, and is about to launch a superweapon that will terrorize the galaxy into submission which the rebels all want to stop. In the new movie though there's no info within the film itself as to what the 'new Republic' is, why it's not apparently fighting the Empire, why the resistance split off from it, and why the resistance has jackshit for a military when the Rebel Alliance had this huge fleet at the end of Jedi. So it makes the whole conflict itself seem very fuzzy as to what the good guys are even fighting for beyond stopping another superweapon and why this Republic is even important beyond being a bunch of generic planets that no one really cares about when they're blown up.

It doesn't rely on anything. My mother watched is and she's 50 years old without having seen any of the previous movies. She somewhat knew the characters from back when my older brother used to play with them when he was younger.
She loved the movie for what it was and was only confused because she didn't really know the family bonds properly (who Kylo's grandfather was, why he wasn't there etc etc).

Need for Speed sucked because the engine couldn't keep up if your car was going 200+, causing you to crash into small obstacles that load 5 seconds after you crash into them.

Funny enough, I don't think KOTOR is actually considered quite canon yet. For a good while the devs themselves were sitting in this uncomfortable position of "we have no clue, they've not told us anything." And I can't remember if there was ever a confirmation either.

I'm not a rabid Star Wars fanboy, but nothing about that movie felt like a Star Wars movie
It felt like they mistook "constant quips and jokes" for the classic camp of the movies
The cinematography was trying way too hard, all the technology looked retarded and shiny which isn't the Star Wars aesthetic, and the sound design leaned way too heavily on bass.
The story was literally A New Hope but with everything x10.
None of the characters got enough characterization at ALL, the protagonist feels like a giant Mary Sue who spends the entire movie with her teeth gritted and overacting everything.
The hamfisted Nazi symbolism with the bad guys really detracted from them.
Nothing had any setup, it was always something happening with no explanation or lead-up so nothing felt like it had any weight to it. Example: the First Order blows up 5 planets just like that and ends up looking like a Saturday morning cartoon villain.
There's some sort of throwback to the original trilogy every 10 minutes that doesn't need to be there, it just feels like it was thrown in only to cash in on nostalgia.
All in all, I was very unimpressed. It feels like the worst of Marvel movies got their hands on Star Wars characters and produces it.

That was actually a problem I have. The stuff is made to look like what the current idea of futuristic is suppose to look like. I think the original movies were able to get a certain timeless ascetics.
