Seems Sony shipped massive amounts of PS4s to retailers; insiders on NeoGAF from Best Buy, WalMart, and GameStop recalled there being massive quantities of SWBF bundles in the warehouses on Black Friday (which was odd until Sony announced $299 for the SWBF bundle from Dec 6th-19th). However, looks like demand for PS4s is still too high in this busy holiday season for Sony to keep up.
The $299 SWBF bundle and NDC bundle were hovering constantly at the #1 and #3 spots on the Amazon sales charts, until the NDC bundle promptly sold out a few days ago, followed by the SWBF bundle selling out yesterday. For the sake of comparison, the only Xbox One SKU in the top 50 is hovering at around #17 despite being the same price ($299), and the Wii U is uncharted (no pun intended)
Looks like the PS4 is almost Wii status in terms of sales this holiday with no signs of stopping, and some incredible games to push momentum in 2016 and beyond.

Not to play devils advocate, but why don't multiplats count? The consumer doesn't really care about exclusives (black ops 3 being the the most sold game between both consoles). People just want the console that can play all the popular games and the ps4 happens to do that well.

It's actually improved a lot, but Microsoft bungled the launch too badly to recover completely (talk of no used games, always online, forcibly bundled kinect driving the price up, kinect spying, etc.).
At this point, I think normies have more friends with PS4, so they'll buy PS4s to play with them, unless they're massive Halo fans. And there's a pile of weebshit coming to the PS4 that won't come to the Xbone for non-normies.

God damn, people really overestimate how much "work" is involved. It literally takes me 2 seconds (1 second each) to know if I can run a game.
