I'm nearly 30. Consoles have had a leg up on PC gaming in cost vs performance specifically for playing games up until consoles tried to emulate the diversity of a PC.
Consoles will die out. They cannot keep up this charade of trying to mimic PCs, but at a greater cost, and expect to live. They've only made it this far on brand recognition alone, yet each generation becomes more and more expensive while PC hardware becomes more and more capable at lower price points to run the same games.

Mine doesn't even had a dedicated GPU, yet I can play every PC exclusive game ever made at max settings, and future exclusives like XCOM 2 will run on it no sweat. The 360 had a neutered x1950pro chip and that card was pretty damn weak to begin with. It traded blows with a 200$ 7800gt the same chip used in the PS3. Right after the PS3's release nvidia released the 8800gtx which trounced everything that came before it. It was 4x more powerful than all the home consoles combined. It took Amd four generations to catch up to nvidia.
