The monado is by no means a sword in any way shape or form, its a blunt object with no sharp edges, "Cutting" through objects is done via the beam, and that only applies to mechon because the design was willed and created for that express purpose. Huma, Homs, Humes, Tethealan, Slyvaranti, Radeon, Pokemon trainers, Rysian, Miltian, are all not human.
