My Wii U has locked up once or twice in the time I've had it. Just force it to shut down then start it again and it should be fine

You clicked on Smash Bros. didn't you?
Because it always happens when I click smash.
Just unplug it from the back and then plug it back in.

Just start it up normally. Don't click on a game, just hit the button that takes you to the Wii U menu.
And if you can't get in that way then just hit the power button on the system itself.

That's what I did, it's stucked everytime it tries to boot up "for real". I also tried starting it by feeding it a disc, in order to force it to boot the game. Same thing.

Like just the power button on the system?
Because if you still can't from there then I guess your Wii U is defective or something. I've had mine since launch and it never did that.

I've had it since launch, nothing ever happened to it and it worked perfectly until now.
I'll try calling nintendo SAV monday, but I'm afraid they'll just tell me to send it and ask me a fortune to repair it, since it's no longer under warranty.
