Deus Ex Magikoopa 2: Fire & Ice
AF76-0000-0115-56D4

More Metroid than Mario, this course is a big adventure with a flashy ending. It's somewhat challenging, but there are no cheap deaths.

The prequel, Check & Point, is on my profile, along with the original version before checkpoints were added to the game. It's a little harder than Fire & Ice, but it's also a little shorter. If anyone beats any of my Magikoopa courses, I'll play everything you've made.

I'm finishing up an unrelated course which should be ready to go very soon. I'll be working on that and playing new courses posted in the thread today.

Good evening my niggas, I managed to find a 8-bit Mario maker amiibo and now I can put the mega mushroom in my levels.

Latest shit I've made:

Bob-omb Warzone
B20E-0000-011D-D6FC
Alternate theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlU-oBPiOJs
Alternate boss theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tULpb_d6rOY

Super Bell Hill (3d World)
4E8B-0000-011E-9292
Alternate theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI8slLrX0kA
It's level 1-1 in Super Mario 3d World recreated in Super Mario Bros. Since it's a faithful recreation it's easy as fuck but hey it should still be fun.
>>
>>320632976
Putting the items so far away from where they're needed makes each attempt a little tedious.

I reached the giant turtle and accidentally killed it with the helmet, and it doesn't respawn. You might want to use a pipe for that kind of thing instead.

I'll keep working on it.
>>
>>320632976
>>320634498
Okay, beaten and starred. I had fun.
>>
>>320633357
Super Bell Hill had a nice feel to it. Has anyone done a faithful recreation of Champion's Road yet? I thought I might do that at some point.

I beat Bob-omb Warzone yesterday and really enjoyed it.

With 75% less hairy balls because of the censoring, I blame NOA.

Also need pro-tip to match the speed of walking goombas with blocks moving on rails above them. It's just for a detail in a level I'm making.
>>
>>320642007
I know I beat Liftin' relatively recently. Thwomp Walk had a good level of challenge without being too punishing.
>>
>>320643858
>Also need pro-tip to match the speed of walking goombas with blocks moving on rails above them.
You could try boxing them in with more blocks on rails so that they'll be shuttled along at the same speed.

If you want something you can beat without having to put in effort perhaps lets plays are more your cup of tea.

Some of us like challenge. We like improving ourselves even though your nihilistic ass can't realize EVERYTHING we do is worthless in the end and that's okay. You live in cowering fear of success.

Besides that you cuck-a-fuck we're getting world speedrun records and first clears for every stage soon. A little bit of epeen goes a long way.

>>320657934
Having looked through the different paths, are the increasing numbers of coins over the entrances meant to signal a scale up in difficulty, or are they just there for decoration?
I think the cloud path and the blue skull path are comparatively a lot less punishing than the other two. It's really nice how you set out all four different elements in advance and then bring them back at the end, I think the reason people haven't starred it is maybe they back out after a one shot death in one of the first two paths and getting put back at the start (IDK, a checkpoint at the room with the doors might encourage players to try other routes).
>>
>>320648697
Neat level with a well-judged structure (and pretty amusing repeat theme)
>>
>>320658904
>A course being instantly detonated behind you
Really neat level. Took me a while to realize that I didn't need that P-switch in the middle section. Amazing ending as well.

>>320660016
The coins were just for show, not difficulty. I made the level before the checkpoint update and haven't really thought of it until you mentioned it.

I'll be doing some revisions, make the cloud room with tighter jumps and fix up the skull room and or change it completely.
>>
>>320642007

Just beat this. The section with the Hammer Bros was a bit crazy and I was trolled on that one blue platform, but cool level overall. I ended up beating the boss by riding on a cannon then making a huge leap all the way down to the goal.

Below are the full patch notes for Super Mario Maker’s latest update, version 1.30:

Add objects such as Fire Koopa Clown Car.
Add linkage with the Super Mario Maker Bookmark portal site that will allow a more detailed course search.
Users will no longer be able to use the words “Like”, “Yeah!”, and the “” symbol in their course names. Please change the course name when saving a course that includes these words.
“World Record (fastest player to clear the course)” and the “First Clear (first player to clear the course)” will be listed for each course.
For courses that were posted prior to the Ver. 1.30 update, only the “World Record (fastest player to clear the course)” will displayed.
Adjustments will be made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.

Made a small world of four levels. Mario is tasked to defeat a giant robot by destroying and/or navigating throughout it. Needs feedback.

Stage 1: 68CE-0000-00D6-7A83
Hard Mode: F8E7-0000-0107-ADD4

Stage 2: 71F9-0000-0101-8F78

Stage 3: 8759-0000-006F-09A8

Stage 4: 9B5B-0000-00ED-B29B

Like I said, feedback would be great. Especially on Stage 4. I tried to make it like a small finale type of stage, but I felt it needed work. I was also thinking of throwing hard mode on stages 2 3 and 4, but I don't have enough feedback.

Wait a minute.

I just rewatched that trailer for the update.

>the p switch that activates the doors is blue
>normal p switch is gold

So what else do you think blue p will do?
>>
>>320675509
Act like a grey switch, maybe? (turns all enemies into grey coins.)
On a side note, is anyone else a tad sad that P-switch doors have outlines? Like, I completely understand why they're there because dickface 12 year olds and dumb 6 year olds would abuse "SECRET INVISIBLE DOOR!! XD" to hell, but for genuinely good level design, it kinda shoots down a bit of potential.
>>
>>320674963
Thanks. The Bowsers weren't really meant to be a threat, honestly. After I finish making hard modes for the courses, i'm probably going to make an EX mode version for all of them. EX mode is basically the same course, but with a different take on the concept. For example with Base of the Maker, you were basically inside of the mechanical workings of the robot. In EX mode, you are taking a detour to its lower torso where part of it is submerged underwater.
>>
>>320675756
I'm sure if you're crafty about it you can cover the lines.

>I always see you posting them anyway.
It takes me forever to finish making anything, so I'm always posting the same stuff. Fire & Ice took me about three weeks.

At least I got Kickstart My Heart finished today. It's a lot different and a lot easier.

Yea I played Fire & Ice a while ago, cool level that one. I think it made it to the hot list of levels back them.

Slight update on Beehive Jive, I left a secret room completely broken and untested.

Ah, I didn't even know that. I actually made a small fix to it and reuploaded it a week ago. I was wondering why my first upload had gotten so many plays.

Yea, now I remember I played that level before I saw it posted here, even star it, seeing it here was kinda a cool surprise.

Anyway you do some quality stuff, keep it up!

Thanks so much for playing. You can actually ride on the shells that are fired out of a blaster. The shell will land around the middle of the fence. Wait at the arrow, and jump on as it passes by.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I just try to make things that I'd enjoy myself, so other people enjoying them is a nice bonus.

I'd rather see a Campaign collaborated by /v/, someone could type out a list of contibuters. It'd be fun to see what comes of it.

I'd do it. You'd probably have to do it over multiple threads though since not a substantial amount of people own Mario Maker. Even regular mosaic threads can have trouble starting up, and everyone has mspaint.

Something like this would require somebody to be very dedicated to organizing and putting it together.

I think with the web portal making a campaign is actually pretty plausible. A single level would be nigh impossible to complete though and would never get uploaded.

Bit Crusade is the series that I've been working on in Mario Maker in an attempt to add classic Mario platforming levels in course world. My take on a classic 1-1 to 8-4, with world theming, secrets, unique bosses, special worlds and the like.

Feedback is encouraged, I want people to enjoy what they play, and it helps me fix any BS I may have overlooked.

I've also started a sequel, which is still in the works. As I finish the levels I'll post them here.

Bit Crusade 2:
Start here: 1-1: Back to Basics A839-0000-00D8-1BD7

Or if you've kept up, the latest world.

World 7
7-1: Pipe Network HQ FF3A-0000-0115-8F40
7-2: Don't Beef It Squid! BFF6-0000-011A-C21A

Alternate Tunes:
7-1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rjLUf2PniA
7-2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_9m9Ckam1c

7-3 is coming along, work's been hectic so progress is slow.

I wouldn't mind taking a crack at it. I'll have lots of time once the holidays are over.

Most software icons on the Wii U menu have a blue ring around them when they've updated.

So that's what it is.
I thought it was when someone played your course and stuff.
