Serious Sans is tolerable because he's meta, he's not a part of the shitheap of the game that is Undertale, he's from outside trying to find the cause of the constant restarts.

He's just really popular because it is easy for pieces of shit to feel like they relate to him because Sans doesn't care and/or is too lazy to stop you but has this limitless potential by being the strongest boss. They too feel as if all their shortcomings are results of a lack of motivation.
