I'm from the Eu too. I have exactly two friends with a 3DS, and only one who also got the game. I played with strangers a lot, and rarely had any issues. But I agree, it should have been possible to play with Japanese and Americans.

I'm not. I'm not saying this should be the case in every game. And it actually did get kind of frustrating in one or two situations. But overall it added a lot of fun to the game. It actually made me grin and laugh out loud like an idiot while playing. Sometimes situations got just really funny.
I have played it and I'm trading it in after Christmas.
Solo is fucking abysmal, online is a crapshoot as to whether it will be decent or utter shit due to lag or bad players (not to mention bad communication options) and I don't have anyone for local multiplayer.
Not to mention region-locking the servers on top of the zone splits can make match-making take forever depending on what you've chosen.
It took me 20 minutes to find two other people to do the first zone with when I bought the game and that was only a month after release.
The dungeon designs are well-designed for co-op but the act of trying to play them is way more trouble than it's worth.
Does anyone know how well it has sold so far? I'd really like to see a sequel but I fear we won't get one.

Is that enough to warrant a sequel? I also hope Nintendo will keep the bird's-eye view Zeldas alive in general. I've always preferred them to the 3D games but in general the latter seem to sell better.
