One that would commonly be looked over.Or maybe an animal that has been there for a long period of time. I know puppies are sweet and don't even understand their imprisonment but they still have a higher chance of escaping through adoption.

god, i don't think i'll ever be able to get the image of my cat being put to sleep out of my head
she was in constant pain but when i got her to the vet and let her out of her carrier she wanted to jump around and explore everything, she was just so excited by this new place, she had to be sedated so the vet could get the IV in her and even then she futilely struggled to lift her head up to look at all the new things around her as the drugs started to flow into her, eventually she stopped moving entirely, her eyes stayed open, she still had some life left in her but she was completely unconscious, finally the vet said it was over and she was gone for good

I spend more time at my local animal shelter than I do at work since October I've put in about 450 hours, and it kills me constantly. What kills me even more is doing nothing. I was animal control officer for 5 years and every night when try and sleep all I can see are the faces of the animals I had to euthanize. It literally eats away at me from the inside I've tried alcohol and drugs, but if I don't volunteer they won't let me sleep. I hate myself.
