RE6 is awesome if you actually play it properly. To think there are people who think the bosses are "bullet sponges" and bash the game on that basis because they run around blindly shooting at bosses instead of fighting them properly.

You were playing it wrong. Also, raise the FOV and enable Auto Action Button to fix the QTEs.

You're supposed to upgrade skills instead. The good part is skills carry across campaigns so you get better and better as you proceed through the four campaigns. It was ultimately a more flexible system than just weapon upgrades.

the gameplay mechanics are good (which is evident in Mercenaries) but the overall level design of RE6 basically shits all over it
there's too many 'cinematic moments' (especially true in Leon's campaign) and Capcom thinks it's a great idea to wrestle control away from players to show them some EPIC moments all the time. stages are basically just corridors and the boss fights have been some of the worst i've seen in an RE game yet
i played it through twice with a friend, once on No Hope. it was still kinda fun in the end, since co-op tends to make everything fun, but once we finished the third campaign we just couldn't be fucked playing Ada's at all and ended it there

There's heaps of it in Leon's campaign. It's basically a one hit kill for those fat, bloated zombies you meet in the catacombs and at the gun shop.

It has some of the best TPS mechanics in the industry. Best dodge system, best cover system, best "feel" of weapon sway and recoil and such. I usually hate Japanese shooting games because Japanese devs tend to suck at it (Binary Domain had awful weapon handling), but RE6 and Revelations 2 are a welcome exception.
