my tv has like 25ms delay on video processing
it's gross
>>
I use a monitor to play my PC and console games.
>>
Whats the difference?

Isnt a television just a big monitor with crappy speakers attached?

I use a mounted 40" LED with a TV table for my KBM, and it works wonderfully

40 inch 4k monitor at 60hz over Display Port 1.2 is the only answer. How else am I going to get full 4:4:4 chroma with 10 bit color depth?

HDMI 2.0 can suck my chode
>>
>>320551237
Depends what you are playing.

Split screen coop is kind of lame on even 26-30 inch monitors. Split second stuff is normally better on a monitor, though really only when displayed at native res.

I don't know, I use both for different things.

TVs have too high of delay and generally have shittier blacks. Monitors 4 lyfe
>>
why do you keep doing this

VA or OLED HDTV for movies etc
Monitor for everything else
>>
>>320551854
No monitor has 1ms of delay, the best monitor has around 8-10 ms of delay, while the best TV has around 15-17, something that only the best of the best would notice, aka Fatal1ty. You aren't Fatal1ty so it shouldn't matter.

The rest are meme features that nobody cares about except true autists. And TVs still have better colors and black compared to monitors. You have no fucking idea of what you are talking about.
>>
Most TV today can function as Monitor
>>
>>320552669
CRTs can have less than 1ms of delay.
>>
Basically either one is fine as long as both parts of the resolution are four digits like they should be.

It's almost 2016. You have no excuse anymore.

I mean come on.

I have two screens attached to my computer. One is a monitor and one is a TV.

Anyone tried connect a gaming console to a HDMI compatible PC monitor?
>>
>>320554016
Yes, why do you ask bruh?

I only connect my consoles to the monitor when I'm playing fighting games because of less input lag
>>
>>320554129
Because I'm still stuck in the stone age and was going to buy something cheap that could display console games and monitors appears to be cheaper than TVs
>>
>>320553219
how am i suppoused to use this image?

TV
Pros:
Average Price
Larger screen per dollar
Inputs
Reasonable quality
Cons:
Slower average refresh rates
Higher average input lag
Speakers are often negligible
Monitors
Pros:
G-sync option
IPS more common
Better color correction on average
Cons:
More expensive per screen inch
Limited inputs on average
Speakers are usually negligible or not present

I personally prefer a TV, and accept that I am making some compromises such as having my refresh rate capped at 120 and having a higher input lag. However, given that I don't play many competitive online games, these are sacrifices I'm willing to make to have my media center be enjoyable by my whole household.

Open it in another tab and the number that shows up more clearly is what it's displaying, either 4:2:2 or 4:4:4. Make sure you zoom in to the native resolution.
>>
>>320554936
What does that mean?
>>
How long before OLED?

Will OLED be superior for gaming?
>>
>>320555440
In a nutshell, if your monitor displays the individual chroma (color) data for each pixel, or if they're sharing data with neighboring pixels. Basically, it means you're getting that crisp pixel-perfect image. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of monitors are 4:4:4 (might be wrong but I can't see it not being the case), but some TVs might not be, which is where that's relevant. I mean, it would be a lot easier to notice if individual pixels were blurry on your monitor or something, as opposed to a TV, which is usually just playing video.

Here's a video I pulled explaining it in slightly more detail, I just kinda skimmed through it but I think it should explain it pretty well:
