if this is for real, I hit my knee with the chainsaw about a fortnight ago. It wasnt running luckily i was just being a dickhead and trying to drop start it with shorts on. cut pretty deep but didn't need stitches or anything just taking a bit to heal. the fucked part is my kneecap is like, well fucked. Shit is temperamental as hell, sometimes its fine and i can walk normally other times it flares up and i cant even lie down without severe pain. I cant be bothered going to my GP and it shouldn't really be a big deal. Really i just needa know some rehab, ive asked on fit and they just said the regular shit. I'm not an expert on this domain but I think what the doctor meant is the cancer is reduced to a small mass and may relapse. I think you should clarify this with the doctor.
What I can tell you is that cancer is almost never curable. We can remove it or burn it with xray or kill it with chemo, there will always remain some cancer cells. The relapse can take 10 years to appear though. I think your mom will be ok for this Christmas but you should ask your doctor.
