how do we prevent this place from becoming another San Francisco, /v/?

That's not how it works. San Francisco has been le progressive city for more than 150 years.
Seattle has water and won't succumb

It's already happening anon, we can't save it. Best thing you can do is find a comfy-ass flyover state and live out with the Midlands folk.

So as long as they're drinking water and not semen Seattle should be alright?

The fuck are you faggots talking about? Seattle is already as bad as SF.
It's too late
Housing prices are rising to bullshit impossible levels, even out in the rural areas
The hipsters have taken over
The Sonics moved out of town
They destroyed the Seattle center arcade to put up a fucking art museum that costs $18 a head to get in.
They are making a giant fucking tunnel by the shoreline, that has been delayed at least 3 years because the world's biggest tunnel drill keeps breaking. They could have literally built a fucking road, or made a park. but no, they had to go with the most expensive option.
We are being priced out of our living areas, even if our minimum wage is one of the best in the country.
Soon, every pink haired indie game dev will be working up here when California gets too hot.

Fuck. I was gonna move there.

Sorry for loss bro, the south will accept you, we love everyone.

Washington State is still great, just stay away from Seattle.

British Columbia is better

I live in the Cascade Mountains in Washington, it's pretty cheap living, and I'm only two and a half hours east of Seattle.

I'm over on whidbey fucking island.

I fuck with Whidbey, doesn't seem like a great place to live though

I'm moving to southern Illinois because of cheap as fuck cost of living. Making 50k a year there is like making 200k in the SF Bay area, but jobs are easier to come by and a lot more laid back.
