The Challenges are nothing special. They're retroactive collectathon goals, so you should have a good number of them unlocked. Decent rewards though. Helped pad out my second FOBobtained by just getting the free MB Coins they give out
Good luck building any of the level 9 stuff. Newer additions require unit levels into the 100s, meaning you'll need all four FOBs to even THINK about developing them. That sniper sounds ridiculous though--makes the Brennan and Serval look like jokes.

As far as I know, no. I think that's stored server side anyway. This update also changed the addresses of a few things, so codes need to be updated anyway. GMP for example is a pointer now. Not too hard to crack since resources are still stored as raw numbers, so it's just selling a resource and seeing where the GMP pointer changes.

Two things I find interesting about this update.
1.). Huge Bonus rewards for completing mission 36 and 41, they really want everyone to know the ending.
2.). Raiden can sprint to the third Platform in about 15 seconds.
It's like they REALLY want everyone to get to the ending of the game before that Nuke timer runs out, PC is about 5-6 days away from closing the gap.

The new weapons are for shits and giggles or for people who REALLY love FOB stuff. If you're just interested in the campaign, your default gear is usually more than enough. I swung for maxing out the NVGs and then the tranq sniper customized to use a suppressor.

Not as annoying as you'd think it'd be. Only one camera can be manually placed per platform and four mines. Chances are, those are going to be placed in the bottom levels of the catwalks, since those are frequently taken by intruders.
Cameras suck anyway. They take too long to sound an alert, can be shot out, and are virtually worthless if the intruder has Reflex enabled (most people do.)

Yeah the missions are garbage and it doesn't help that you visit each outpost like 4-5 times once you are done with the story. Still I think that the game does offer variety but only if you do the additional tasks and even when the core mechanics are great, once you have the stun arm or the Rocket arm 2, there is almost no need to use the rest of the weapons.
The only FOB update I want is the option to opt out.

Yeah, I have one FOB full 28/28 with all being level 45 or more on defense. I only got invaded twice in like 2 months and both died rather quickly. I started to train on my own FOB but so far I can't get close the 3rd platform when I have 12 guys per platform (20 on the main one) and shit ton of guns, cameras, drones, etc etc.

The update adds side objectives (neutralize 5 dudes, neutralizes 10 dudes with a handgun, infiltrate the core successfully, do it in combat fatigues, take out a defender with a handgun) to during a FOB with straight espionage points rewards (that don't scale). It then becomes faster to go after shitty/underequipped FOBs and end fast to grind ranking points than going after harder, longer, better equipped FOBs
