More Metroid than Mario, this course is a big adventure with a flashy ending. It's somewhat challenging, but there are no cheap deaths.

Check out the prequel on my profile. It's a little harder, but it's also a little shorter. If anyone beats any of my Magikoopa courses, I'll play everything you've made.

That's pretty clever. A tip on the boss music to get it to play throughout the second half: Place alternating burners at regular intervals along the top or bottom, and attach the boss music to each one. Just point them away from the field of play. Each time one activates, it should renew the music before it ends.

It's not a linear rate(e.g. Goomba is 1 star, Koopa is 50 stars, Piranha is 150) but every medal past Goomba adds 10 more to your max upload count, up to a maximum of 100 after 5000 stars.

Please christ tell me these things fire when enemies are in them. Not sure how I feel about pswitch doors. Don't hate em, but at the same time I don't feel they add anything too new. You could already gate doors with a pswitch anyway. Bumpers might be interesting if you can put them on tracks(I'm assuming you can because you can put saws on tracks). I guess this confirms nintendo is definitely going to do content with this splatoon style where it's just random trickles of stuff every month or so. Also the video didn't mention it but on the interface it had that bookmarks thing from the web portal, so that's gonna be out too.

Well the good news is that's almost to the boss in that stage. The bad news is wily 1 boss is probably the hardest thing in the stage.

You might or might not have more luck with wily 2. Wily 1 was designed about reaction and dodging enemy elements. Wily 2 is all about flow and control of your character. Both keep you on your feet and are meant to be the kind of difficulty wall you'd expect from a wily castle though.

To give you guys a heads up Wily 3 will be based around navigating hazards, so be ready for that.

Mushroom already has a shake effect in SMB, just nobody uses it.

It felt good to master each part and finally chain them together in one solid run to make it through.

I don't know if this was intentionally left in, but I took advantage of a mild sequence break. At the start of the moving ice blocks, a couple of precise jumps will get you over to the door at the start of the next section. You can then go backwards through that door, then a couple hops at the top will get you back through the door the correct way to start that next section without needing to climb through all of the moving ice.

SMW was the tileset that had the least effort put into it. It's missing the most out of the games featured, to the point where almost all the enemies in first two stages aren't even in the game.

I would think if they made it rotatable, they would need to make the normal ground blocks rotatable, which is fine. Shake a rotatable ground block to get a wedge you can rotate to make slopes. It seems pretty basic and easy.

I was thinking of having a platforming section that is easy to do slowly, but trickier to speedrun it.
At the beginning of this section is a P-Switch, and at the end is a P-door. If you can do it quickly enough, P-door leads to bonus room.
I'm assuming that the doors are only usable for as long as a P-switch is active, but now that I think of it the video didn't really speak to that.
Also, it would either be SMB, or the P-switch set between blocks so it couldn't be picked up, clearly.

Some people do score attack, but I imagine it would be relatively pointless on most levels since
1. most level makers leave the timer @ the default 500 or whatever ticks
2. a ton of levels give out coins / 1 ups like candy
3. you can go through a pipe as many times as you want and "reset" the level a ton

It could be interesting on some mini game stages, perhaps? But I think a ton of existing stages would be terrible candidates for score attacking.

Time attack on the other hand, tons of people are interested in that shit and it's pretty hard to cheese (other than if the level maker stupidly gives you a mega mushroom or feather).
