I did, and I have to admit, I like it a lot. The script is significantly improved over the original SNES version. The game world is bright and fun to look at, and the sprites are better than they get credit for.
Overall, I approve of this remake. Clearly the definitive version of Final Fantasy VI for anyone who isn't looking at the world through nostalgia goggles.

The tiling problem happens when you use any resolution that ain't native, that's because the game applies a blinear filter to scale up the visuals in ANY resolution that isn't the native of 576x384

The colors are fucked on the GBA version and so is the music. That is what they will use. Even the patch which fixes the music has issues since it does not just insert 1:1 copies of the original music but redoes them to sound closer, but botches that in a few areas like the opera where it is nothing like the SNES original.

Also I'm playing through FFVI for the first time right now (SNES version), but I started before the mobile version got released on steam. While I can see the appeal for "cleaner looking" sprites, I feel the character sprites just don't mesh well with the rest of the spritework in the game. There's nothing "wrong" with them but they don't get enough "right," if that makes sense. The sprites don't have any real shading to them either, just sort of a flat coloring to them. It looks really odd, considering most of the environments have some sort of shading to them. It feels lazy, I guess.
The SNES character sprites at least fit in with the rest of the game, so on that note they are steps above what the steam version offers. I also generally like that look more.
There is no fucking excuse for what passes as towns on the PC port though. Holy shit what were they thinking? It's so jarring to look at, fuck.
