working on a full conversion of System Shock 2 for Sven Co-op a Half-Life 1 Mod so ppl can play this glorious game multiplayer with friends vs monsters for the first time (i think maybe theres other conversions out there)
because the multiplayer for ss2 online is horribly broken also system shock/cyborg/SOMA thread

Why? System Shock 2 co-op works fine, I played it with a friend just recently and it works fine, we didn't have any hiccups.

oh rly? i always had issues with the fact that if you didn't choose the same carrier path, your friend was INVISIBLE bug happened to me a bunch
other main bug is load bug, when u go between levels it like loads FOREVER AND OVER And doesn't transition :(

Did you use the community patch? Because we played like 5 years ago and it wasn't very stable, we had bulkhead crashes and second player copied host skills and inventory upon loading

Sounds like a super ambitious project, so good luck to you (if you are a developer.) Usually I would be pretty doubtful of a project like this, but I've seen mods like Cry of Fear push the Goldsource engine into sky high limits.

I don't think I will be doing a port but if i do proceed forward with this project I will try to make the archetecture as close to ss2 as possible I'm thinking, with a few additions of maybe damage to the ship blood bodies cracks
not sure if i will have someone port the models or just have to use other models i have available to choose from
i would port the sounds almost completely though

Thank you! It is very real in the sense that I spent 3 hours making this section via the reference pic, i hope other mappers will help me along with this project otherwise i may not get paste 1 level / inspired level depending on my energy levels
I do not plan to translate any of the mechanics what do you mean exactly tho? i guess u mean like picking up items in a inventory. i am told that in svencoop 5.0 there will be the use of AngelScript codeing, and i assume with that we could do something with that that would be acceptable i hope
otherwise i know you can do some simple hud in 4.8 versions.
