I genuinely though i had broken the game or done something horribly wrong, i kept dying, i didn't even think you could beat himYeah i know, i suck at bullet hells
Omega flowey is probably the best part of the game. I wasn't even thinking about doing other runs before getting to him on neutral route. Then, after fighting him and beating the story my opinion about the game changed and I ended doing true pacifist and genocide as well.
>I kept dying
Try Sans if you thought he was hard.
>>320461015
I've beaten sans twice, the first time took me something like 20-30 tries, second time i did it in 1 try
I decided to stop pussing out today and finish my genocide after feeling bad and quitting at the Undying.
Apparently if you try to talk to Toriel during her fight after genociding the ruins it just says "Not worth talking to"
>>320461313
>tfw after beating sans you lose control of your own actions and attack without command
I was shit there was only 2 bosses in genocide, Mettaton NEO would have been a good fight

>>320461418
>not letting sans beat you
>not blueballing charaDoes the game do the second attack that kills sans automatically? Is there anything that happens if you don't press it a second time?
>>320461791
Yeah it attacks again automatically, basically chara has taken full control at that point
>>320461301
Why would do genocide 2 times?
>20-30
That's actually a good number. It took me 50 or 60 tries to beat him. That last attack really gave me trouble.
>>320461313
>>320462002
If you do it twice chara asks why you brought the world back if you just want to destroy it again, then she says a different route would be more appropriate

The bosses in Undertale become really easy after you learn their patterns though.

IS it possible to legitimately defeat mega flowey? 'Legitimately' meaning without the souls coming in and easy-moding it for you? A few of his attacks seemed impossible to avoid.
>>320462669
No, it's impossible to kill him without the souls.
>>320462669
There's videos of people not getting hit by him the whole fight.
But he really takes no damage by using 'fight' before they reduce his defense to 0.
My experience was that I thought you couldn't lose. I got hit plenty of times, and got down to really low life and got with and STILL didn't die.
I felt like I was suckin bad at it... until I learned you could actually lose. Then I felt better.

Is this thread one giant troll? This boss literally lets you win, unless it's not the neutral route I got the only time I played.
It was pretty hype and well done though. I enjoyed it.

POST YFWyou're blue now./
How many hours of gameplay are in undertale in a single run?
>>320464971
Eh, some people just aren't great at bullet hell, even with the SOULs trying to help you out.
>>320465145
I would say about six for a casual first time.
>>320464971
The boss doesn't let you win, it's just very easythough I died twice.
OP is bad at videogames
>>320465231
Is Flowey rebooting your game dying? I can't remember, I was pretty drunk playing the game, but that did happen twice. I thought it was just a boss more about surprising you than being actually hard. Going into that game spoiler free made it pretty fun.
If I wanted to fight sand but not fuck my game up, would I just quit and reset after killing him?
>>320465145
Depends on the route (neutral/pacifist/genocide) you take and how much you explore/check all the nooks and crannies. I got about 7 or 8 hours on my first neutral (where I killed some guys) and went back in for a pacifist run in about 6. Genocide run is much shorter, but Undyne is much harder and Sans will take you a while.
You can do neutral + true pacifist pretty quickly if you do a pacifist run first and then, after beating Flowey, reloading your save from Asgore's castle and going back to see Alphys. The extra true pacifist content will run about 1:30-2:30 hours depending on how fast you go through Alphys' segment.
>>320465432
If you run out of HP, your soul shatters and you get the Game Over screen + Flowey closing the game.
I think it counts.

my computer blue screened right after he said "you're blue now" and I thought it was part of the joke
the timing could not have been more perfect
Is a genocide run something you should want to do. I mean, is there like a "true" ending that you get if you do all the endings
I really don't want to be evil
>>320460581
still find it funny how Omega Flowey is actually called Photoshop Flowey in the game files
like you just KNOW that Toby was just fucking around in Photoshop and pasting random parts in until he came up with something horrifying enough and then just ran with it
>>320466268
The true ending is if you do a pacifist run afterward,Chara wakes up and is implied to go on killing everyone they can, because you sold your soul, and now they were the one inside you for that run.
>>320466268
Personally, I love the concept of role play and to make characters with different kinds of personalities/behaviors depending on the game I play. So doing genocide wasn't much of a problem for me, I just started to roleplay as a psychopath character who takes joy in hunting down monsters when doing the run.
Also, the feeling that genocide run gives to you is something that I never experienced in any game. It's really psychological and puts you in the shoes of the real villain. And I don't know about you, but experiencing new things is one of the main reasons why I play games in the first place. Not to mention that there's some really cool details about the characters, story and also about your character in it.
I think that people are doing a disservice to themselves in not doing it.
>>320466316
he didn't make it
>>320466316
the whole game felt like that to be honest
>>320462805
Not true, I distinctly remember a no damage run, although it was VERY luck based
>>320463221
is it supposed to be a tiny fucking window?
>>320462961
What actually constitutes a loss? I got the GAME OVER screen once (which ended up being quite a bit different than the normal game over screen) and that booted me back out to desktop, but when I ran the game again it didn't seem like I had to start all over
I also got hit multiple times at what seemed like my last hit but the fight kept going. It felt really anticlimactic
>>320468492
>>320468324
thanks, was just a very unexpectedly small window to boot. Is it like this in Steam too?
>>320468685
yeh
>>320468685
Yea. Don't know why honestly
>get to this boss
>see the faces on the television screen
>close game
how does anyone actually like this fight? it tries wayyyyyyy too hard to be meta, and getting booted out of the game if you die is obnoxious as fuck, doubly so since dieing doesnt even matter. its fucking terrible, easily the worst part of the game next to hot land
