Day one player here that has spent hundreds of hours on it. You're full of shit. If anything it's gotten worse and I'll tell you how, all these DLC's were chances for Bungie to fix the game up and make it better. Maybe the first two, they couldn't do much, I figured. TTK was going to be where they turned it all around, right? Nope. 40$ for about 2 days of actual content (half of this content is reusing old assets and areas and putting LE SUPER ORIGINAL TAKEN in it instead) and the rest is grinding the same 3 strikes over and over. Bungie had many chances to redeem themselves and they keep fucking it up. Instead of bitching about it for another year, I finaqlly jumped ship from the crash wreck back in October and boy am I happy that I did

Gunplay is great, art design is great, and music is good.
Light levels are annoying, and there was practically zero content on release even though they were obviously done or near done the content for the expansions.
Expansions cost way too much, and then for the Taken King there is no way just to upgrade, you have to re-buy the game again. I bought one DLC pack (hoping I may get good amounts of content out of it) and now I'm stuck with buying a full price game for what is essentially two DLC packs. This is probably the worst case of DLC pricing I have ever seen.
I really want to love the game but it's just all put together so poorly. And thats ignoring the fact that all of the lore (ALL of it) is locked away in a separate site because apparently putting those logs you pick up IN GAME readable IN GAME is too fucking hard.
Also I pretty much never play the game with other people so raids/other content is out, which means its pretty much impossible for me to save up to buy legendaries as the only repeatable events were for 3+ players.

Vanilla Destiny was very fun, but then I hit a point where I was doing the same thing everyday and it got repetitive so I stopped playing.
Multiplayer is fun but everybody is at level 40 and I'm only at 28 and is very unbalanced, but fun in short bursts.

The gunplay feels pretty good but everything is a bit too smooth and refined and lacks any sort of true edge. Because of that it can get a bit boring.

Funbreaker just got nerfed, it's reasonable now. Stormcaller is still fucking dumb with Transcendence though. Bladedancer is still good, Nightstalker is good, Gunslinger is good not to mention Hunters have other good abilities other than Supers.

Hammers don't track as well, dodging them is pathetically easy now. Not to mention when Hammer of Sol is activated literally everyone on the map knows it.
I don't even think Sunbreakers are the best Titan class now, I think Strikers are the best now.

Except that with the taken king the stuff from day one is rendered obsolete, from the weapons to the gear -- hell, even the previous DLC's aren't worth doing. TK introduced more farming and microtransactions. Also you get an instant lv. 25 token to further skip Vanilla destiny and go directly to TK. The story of TK has a handful of story missions.
I did like the unlimited power Ult from the warlock and the waifu that "died".

I didn't pay $120 for it so I'm completely happy with it. I'll probably leapfrog the next XPAC or two and pick em all up for cheap in a bundle like I did the first time.
