When I stormed the institute with the minutemen and reached the atrium, all the synths there turned hostile. Including the one that's involved with the Railroad's mass breakout plot. Except that particular synth is unkillable. So throughout that entire battle, all of my allies were fighting one, unkillable enemy armed with a combat knife while I had to kill everybody else.

Synths and Liberty Prime don't effect fit into the same category.
Liberty Prime is a siege engine. Give him a target and he'll smash his way to it. But he's not self sufficient.

In the [Speech 25] method used in New Vegas, 96 out of your 100 skill points were completely useless.
You had easy at 25, medium at 50, hard at 75, and Lanius at 100. If they applied that to the Perk system, you'd have a bunch of dead levels again, where levelling up your Charisma would do nothing except at Cha 1, 4, 7 and 10.
At least with the percentage system, each point of Charisma actually influences your success.

There was a potential nuclear bomb developed as a timed, static explosive placed behind enemy lines. A figurative backpack nuke. Even so, it would easily destroy around 2 blocks and was meant to be a static placement timed explosive to destroy enemy military fortifications after parachuting in the soldiers carrying the backpack nuke.
It was not until FO3 that the nukes became lol whacky epic 50's bullshit.
