Not only can you solo but you can spec so that you get bonuses just for going solo.
That being said there is enough variety of enemies that you'll want at least one source of ranged damage and magical damage. Like some enemies straight up don't take physical damage, some don't take magical, and flying enemies are annoying as hell. If you carry a magical weapon around though that might not be a problem.

Are the solo bonuses worth it as in an equal tradeoff? Depends on how much you dislike the pawns and like being solo. It's definitely viable, at the very least, but it can get difficult.

The combat in darksiders has more depth and variety, the dungeons had more verticality and more interesting riddles. The game was also overall much more challenging than the common 3D Zelda experience.

Obviously they could have done a lot better on the promotional side, but the game they wanted to make would have been an absurd investment.

It would have definitely been absurd because the better game still wouldn't have sold more copies than DD did.

I can't wait to play this again. I've played so much of it on my PS3 that I'm honestly bored. The only thing that I'm really looking forward to is the magic not making the game run slower than a dead snail. I was fine with the framerate except for those occasions
