Why isn't memorization a skill?
Some Kaizo levels require both memorization skill and coordination skill, both of which you need in ample quantities to beat a stage. Just because you're no good at it, doesn't mean it's bullshit.

Meat Boy isn't terribly hard, mostly because the actual consequences of a death are so minor that you can basically accomplish any task by throwing yourself at it enough times.
Some of the longer and harder stages require a bit more skill but most of those are bonuses or end-game stages.

memorizing maps so you don't fall for a trap is not hard, once you know the level it's piss easy and no reflexes are needed whatsoever, mario is even harder than that because of the enemy rng which memorizing doesn't do shit for you.

Nothing is hard in mario (unless you're talking rom hacks); it's all just timing and being patient. You don't actually need to learn specific tricks.
