Yeah, I had to make some adjustments on the controller settings to play MGS3 without slitting the throat of every guard I CQC. I just changed it so it would only register as a half press which meant no throat slitting even if I wanted. Not sure how they'd get away with it outside of some weird button combo which brings its own problems.
But outside of MGS, I don't think many games made use of the pressure sensitive face buttons in any meaningful way so I doubt it would crop up as an issue much.
