Some anon mentioned Shadowrun, which is pretty heavily gun-based.
Only downside is that it's not nearly as balanced as Wasteland 2/DivOS, and the non-combat stuff isn't all that great, though Hong Kong and Dragonfall made some strides to correct this.

Yep. Divinity: Original Sin. Comfy as FUCK, the combat is great the story can be hit or miss. I liked it, especially the fact that they didn't take themselves too seriously and the clearly had fun writing it.
If you want to play for the story I suggest you pick-up all 3 Shadowrun Returns games during next week's Xmas sales (the first one from 2013, Dragonfall and Hong Kong). No matter how much people bitch about the combat being too easy/casualized, the story/writing IS solid.
Lords of Xulima is a blobber with clear influences from days of yore and battles tend to be a bit of a grind (too many), but if you're a min-maxing addict you can have lots of fun with it.
You could also try Pillars of Eternity: no matter how much neckbeards shit on it (the neckbeards on Codex, mind you) the game is fun and story quite interesting. Again, a looooot of battles/fights and it tends to drag on in the 2nd part pf the game (might be subjective though, I've finished the game in a roughly 2 weeks but with a pause between the two halves, because I went on a trip for a week, so it was a bit disrupting). Or wait a bit more and play the entire package (the game + the expansion, of which the 1st part is out and 2nd part should be out in January I think...).

REALLY look into Silent Storm. It's great, aged well, features fully destructible world and lots of fun.
Paradise Cracked is amazing as well, but good luck finding that in english.

>Guns & modern-era settings
- Jagged Alliance 2. Ok, it's a bit old and quite light on the RPG side, but as a Turn-based with gun, it's absolutely marvelous and the combat system is the best out there. You might want to run it with the 1.13 fan made patch and you might want to tweak that patch manually a bit
- Silent Storm. WW2 themed, good game, but again, not really a RPG.
>Fantasy settings
- Divinity Original Sin. RPG with great combat, great game in overall, some flaws in balance and late game.
- Blackguards 1 & 2. RPG. The second one is more polished and better in overall. Not perfect, sometime a bit cluncky but I liked it in overall.
- Arcanum have a turn-based mode. Ok, more Steampunk than pure fantasy but still. Magic, guns and shit. Wonderful old as fuck game.

- Fallout 1 & 2, obviously, good Wasteland feeling. Also Fallout tactic if you don't mind the lack of RPG aspect
