personal opinion from someone who grew up with aoe2 and deus ex 1:

it's wonderfully cringeworthy. imagine a game that is a tribute to deus ex while using the same engine and gameplay from the original game, all topped with similar mission design, done by a a forum community complete with hat-tippers and even a furry.
the mod is set in cyberspace (I think, I don't remember exactly) and a simulation of a board where you are a mod. intrudoces unarmed fightstyle to the already existing ones.

EYE has a story fork near the end, you probably took a different direction.
IIRC you might have gone to a Jian base instead which looks like some space version of a Japanese samurai castle.

Fuck EYE. Also, beware of Alpha Protocol. It's horribly flawed, the gameplay is utter ass that doesn't seem to decide if it's utterly consolized or just plain bad, and the story is a messy patchwork due of the original writer leaving and Avellone putting some B-movie characters into it and turn it into a very stupid parody of spy fiction.

Creating a map in Hammer and then tripling the size of it is not hard work. Those very Source mod boxes with little corridors that join them are a very poor example of map design.

It's barely fun with people. It's grindy, saving barely works, and the "progression" is basically choosing one option in a very stupid dialogue to change what next map you will suffer. For three playthroughs.

I completed the game 3 times over, got true ending. I enjoyed it but it's not that good. It's got some good here but plenty of shit too. At the time I thought, it's alright, pretty good for a small indie studio and their innovation is welcomed. But man in the last year this game has been shilled to oblivion.

That's all basic E.Y..E. thread content, if you aren't aware of, and that tells you of what kind of fans it has It's definitely overexposed for what little it offers. The "it's dirty cheap" excuse is not enout, even Bad Ratz is cheap, but that doesn't mean it's good.
