MGS 1-3 was. And 3 was changed in the subsistence version because that camera system is awful when you have no soliton. The forest obscured everything to the point of making stealth really difficult. This is partially thanks to the enemies having much longer range of vision.
However the game is greatly improved since it gives people the option to play with which camera system they like more.

Pretty much killed all their IPs to push for gambling, particularly pachinko machines. Pachinko parlors have ties to corrupt retired-officers, and Konami themselves have had ties to yazuka in the past. Since they're basically the front man pushing for legalized gambling, it's kind of obvious nobody here stands to benefit supporting Konami. Unless you really liked what double helix did with slient hill, then you can expect that until they phase out MG completely.

People always say this, but before MGSV came out I replayed MGS3 exclusively with Snake Eater camera and had no problems. And I'm terrible at Metal Gear.

Who knows how it will turn out. Kojima was vital in giving the series a lot of its charm, but I don't think he's outright necessary. They just need to get a competent, creative team with a director that knows what he's doing. Kojima had fuck-all to do with Ghost Babel (save for maybe giving some advice) and I think it's one of the best games in the series.
Either way Kojima's tenure with the series needed to be up. I don't think he had much to offer it anymore. I just hope the new game is in a different continuity and starts over instead of trying to navigate the mess that Kojima left.
