Advanced Power Armor was developed about 67 years before the events of Fallout 4. A Mk I suit would still probably be rusty, although it would probably be in better condition than your average T-51b suit. On the other hand, a Mk II suit would probably be in fine condition since it's almost entirely made of advanced ceramics.

The radiant quests from the minutemen piss me off the most because they pop up all the fucking time and if you don't drop whatever other bullshit you're doing immediately, you fail them.

Also there's the same annoying shit in every faction, the Minutemen are just the worst. P.A.M and Tinker Tom have unlimited quests and will bug you any time you go to the Railroad. The BOS also has unlimited quests and will bug you about getting more technical documents and other shit.

Crossing the US shouldn't be that huge of a feat desu senpai. There are plenty of examples of travelers crossing continents thousands of years ago. It would be easier in the Fallout universe at least because there are still some working cars, trains, motorbikes, vertibirds and power armour. I never encountered the enclave deserter in fallout 3 but if he had a set of power armour that would make the trip pretty easy considering it can filter out radiation, make walking and carrying things easier, and provide massive amounts of protection.

If I remember right, Vault 81 supposedly used an airborne FEV and gas chambers to create super mutants. No dipping and no intelligent leadership required. How convenient for Beth's writing.

And then we are supposed to believe that the Vault 81 mutants made more of themselves by kidnapping humans on the surface, even though none would survive the 3,600 rad/second at the entrance of the vault. Unless Beth's magic FEV suddenly works on dead things.

Honestly the skill put into those characters probably blindsided them during plot development/brainstorming the outline for 4. They expected nv to suck and it didnt and by the time they figured it out assets locations and quests were already done. The most they could have done is rewrite characters which it looks like they did with shawn and the institute seeming so shallow compaired to the turmoil and infighting described in the terminals. They were probably going for the institute to be the bos from 3 and ur pc helping the good guys defeat the mengele faction shown in three. After seeing the success of the factions nv bethesda decided to plug in choices such as brotherhood and railroad where instead of being pit stops like in mmos and other rpgs they became their half assed selves right now. This conspiracy is further supported by the lack of scripted minute men missions, lack of faction fame/infamy, and no supporting factions/townships. As seen with most modern games there was a very sudden and strong Uturn in development that should not have happened.
