Basically post-apocalyptic wasteland full of druggies and mutants created from druggies doing crazy drug called Joy. MC Brad finds baby that reminds him of his baby sister and raises it. She runs off and Brad has to find her. It takes the earthbound style of charm and gets gritty with it but not in the purely depressing way of Mother 3, it just doesn't pull any punches. It's alright.

The only intrigue in LISA's gameplay is from the characters, setting, plot, attack flavor, etc. Basically everything besides the core gameplay itself. If you removed those things you would be left with an incredibly boring NES-era turn-based RPG with no depth at all. There's no such thing as a "fun" fight in LISA, because they're all the same thing.
