My top 5 were K. Rool, Bayonetta, Wonder Red, Suicine and King Boo. I got one of the 5 characters and I expected none so I'm pretty thrilled.
I voted for rattata. Almost voted for my waifu. But I figured a one in a million chance is better than a one in a trillion chance.

It doesn't make sense, because the Pokemon in Smash don't really follow any patterns on why they're picked. There is literally no need to have a grass starter in the game. Not even to appease people's autism.

When are the new characters getting released?
Got btfo the hardest with K.Rool. I feel that DK is a franchise that deserves a 3rd rep due to its importance to Nintendo and recent revival this decade.
I also would have loved to see Bomberman, but clearly Konami needs to get their shit together. Konami has a goldmine of ip on par with Sakurai's vip standards for 3rd party characters that remains untapped.
I would have liked Wolf to come back too, but once this became the final Smash presentation, I knew it would be better that the final two characters be newcomers like we got.
Of course there are some things I would change, but at this point it almost feels pathetic to complain about a 58 character roster that nearly hits all the spots. I can only assume the next Smash will have to be a back to basics, more focused game because there is no way they can outdo with roster.
