Holy fuck, I might give up on the comedy auditions. I've memorized the correct responses, but my timing is all fucked up. I just hate how each response has to be perfect.

on one or two yeah. like "you went on a date with him!?" one it best if done while he is saying it and I think one other one early on is best when he's about to finish but everything else is fine if you do it the second he's done talking.
Are there any missable sidequests you can't do in Premium Adventure or whatever? I've heard whispers of a few Haruka sidequests being missable?
the button inputs for loneliness loop are fun in normal

pretty sure they don't change the inputs it just increases the rating, combo and "greats" required to pass.
Still in chapter 1 with Kiryu. Just been drifting in my taxi, playing Virtua Fighter and cooking ramen all day. There's probably some story stuff to do but I haven't checked.

You know why this happened? Because of all the people that complained about the untranslatable side content being left out of 3. If you ever complained about the game show thing being removed you don't get to complain about the comedy duo.
Five years ago I stumbled upon a weathered ps2 and copies of Yakuza 1 and Ico. Despite liking De Chirico, I quickly found out that Ico indeed is the most overrated game I have ever encountered and it has probably melded with liquid trash at a garbage dump by now. Yakuza, on the other hand wove a sense of place through seemingly tedious actions, simplistic combat and overall laid back charm that it has become a staple in a gamer's diet ... that was followed with a true one because Kiryu's fitness gave me, a dropout NEET at the end of his youth, the motivation to spend what little money I had on weekly kyokushin lessons, culminating in a black belt 7 months ago. This is purely as a side goal, career opportunity because giving martial art lessons beats scrapping by in retail. Parallel to that I developed a habit of jotting down reps of kanji intermingled with sections of Yakuza gameplay. It was a shy attempt at learning something that I could use as both pursuit of self-worth and an outside-of-college career goal. My motivation picked up significantly when Yakuza 5 first came out, and in the meanwhile I managed to pass JLPT 2.
Would recommend Yakuza to everyone. It's like an endlessly rewatchable sitcom. Watch Ichi the Killer as an antipod to it atmosphere wise. I wish Suda 51 did a rival series to Yakuza, darker and more surreal.

Saejima's fighting style is dog shit early on when every little thing knocks you over.
Then you get to a point where you can't be knocked down and he/s just boring.

And one minus for Yakuza 5 - the faces were much bloodier after a beating in Yakuza 3 and 4.

That heat special where you punch the fuck out of him was quite satisfying though.
I still don't get how to do the Heat action after a combo from the red heat Dragon Spirit. The enemies fall too fast.
I decided to start playing Yakuza because it seems like everyone is going nuts about it.
So I'm playing the first one. It's fun. I know some folks have said it's a bit rough, so I'm looking forward to the combat and whatnot getting better.
